RRC Group D Level I Exam Pattern 2019

Exam Date(Tentative)

The 1st Stage CBT is tentatively scheduled between September-October 2019.

Selection Procedure

The recruitment process of RRC Group D 2019 will involve the following stages of examination:

  • Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
  • Document Verification/Medical Examination.
  1. English is the default language.
  2. In case the candidate wishes to choose any other language, then the same can be selected from the drop down list of languages. The languages listed are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
  3. In case of any difference/ discrepancy/dispute in the Questions between English and the opted language, the content of English version shall prevail.

CBT Exam Pattern

All Candidates will have to undergo a computer based test with multiple choice questions for RRC Group-D Exam 2019, the examination duration and number of questions for CBT of which are indicated below:

  • The exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 Minutes.
  • Negative marking of 1/3 is there.
  • Normalization of marks will be done
  • Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories:
    UR-40%,
    EWS-40%,
    OBC(Non creamy layer)-30%,
    SC-30%,
    ST-30%

Note: Where a second stage CBT is deemed necessary and held, the Railway administration reserves the right to treat the first stage CBT as a qualifying test for the purpose of short listing a reasonable number of candidates for the second stage.

Physical Efficiency Test

  • Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET Three times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs/RRCs.
  • Passing Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is mandatory and the same will be qualifying in nature.
  • The Persons with Benchmark Disabilities(PwBD) are exempted from appearing for PET.

The criterion for PET for Railway group D is as under:

Male candidates Female candidates
Should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of
weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2
minutes in one chance without putting the
weight down ; and
Should be able to run for a distance of 1000
metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one
chance.
Should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of
weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2
minutes in one chance without putting the
weight down; and
Should be able to run for a distance of 1000
metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one
chance.

 

Document Verification (DV) and Medical Examination

  • Based on the performance of candidates in CBT subject to their qualifying in PET, candidates twice the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.
  • All candidates successful in DV are sent for Medical Examination.
