SSC MTS is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission makes recruitment to the posts of Multi Tasking Staff in Pay Band-1( 5200- 20200/-) + Grade Pay 1800/-, a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Central Government Ministries / Departments / Offices, in different States/ Union Territories. 
 
Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) employees are the Group C central government employees that are hired through special SSC exam. The MTS Employees are very important part of the bureaucracy, especially when it comes to performing the daily operations of different departments. MTS Employees are hired in CCAS cadre (Central Civil Accounts Service) of the Group C and are offered promotions within this group on the basis of seniority.
 
The nature of the job of Multitasking staff is quite challenging and substantial. So before you appear in the exam, you should know all the nitty-gritty and approach for this exam. Staff Selection Commission holds Multitasking staff examination to recruit candidates for various posts like posts of Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, Mali etc.

  • Photocopies and sending FAXs and etc. 
  • Watchman or ward duties. 
  • Opening & Closing rooms.

  • Driving of Vehicles in case if you have a Driving license.

SSC MTS Vacancy 2018 / 10674 Vacancies

There are around 8300 MTS posts in non-technical section announced for SSC MTS 2017. The vacancy is expected to be same as that of last year. SSC MTS Exam Pattern

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the MTS every year for various posts. 
 
The written exam will consist of two papers i.e.: As per the scheme of the SSC MTS examination, there shall be two papers viz. Paper – I and Paper – II.
 
Paper- I will be entirely objective while Paper- II will be descriptive in nature. 
 
Paper – II will be comprised of a Short Essay/ Letter to be written in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
 
Paper- II is simply qualifying in nature. It is intended to test the elementary language skills of the candidates to be suitable for the post.
 
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the examination will be required to appear for a descriptive type qualifying paper for testing basic language skills. The date of descriptive paper will be intimated in due course.

Each question carries 1.5 marks
The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
 
Paper 2

NOTE-I : Paper-I will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi. The Commission reserves the right to set the questions additionally in regional languages subject to technical feasibility.
 
NOTE-II: There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
 
NOTE-III: Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidate will be required to write short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.
 
NOTE-IV: Paper-II will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills in view of recategorization of the post as Group-C and in view of job requirements.
 
Paper-II: The Paper will be set in English and Hindi and to the extent possible in other languages mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution as given in Annexure-X, to test basic language skills commensurate with the educational qualification prescribed for the post. Candidates will be required to write one short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of Constitution.

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria

NATIONALITY / CITIZENSHIP:
 
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January,1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar),Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
 
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
 
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.
 
5(A) AGE LIMIT: 18-25 years as on 01.08.2018 (i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1993 and not later than 01.08.2000)
 
Note I: Candidate should note that Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate available on the date of submission of application will only be accepted by the Commission for determining the Age- eligibility and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted .

SSC MTS Application Fee

MODE OF PAYMENT: Application Fee & Mode of Payment: Rs. 100 (One hundred only)
 
Candidate may note that only online applications will be accepted at: http://ssconline.nic.in.
 
All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from paying application fee, as per extant government orders.
 
7(i): The candidates who are not exempted from paying examination fee may submit the requisite fee through State Bank of India only either in the form of challan, generated on line, or through SBI Net Banking. Payment can also be made through any Credit or Debit Card. 7(ii) Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstance.

SSC MTS Admit Card 2018

Every candidate who registers for SSC MTS Exam 2018 within stipulated time will be assigned an e-admit card/hall ticket/call letter that can be downloaded from the official website of SSC. The admit card for the MTS Tier-1 exam will be issued first followed by admit card for Paper-II. 
 
More information and the download link for the admit card will be displayed post the release of the official notification for SSC CGL 2018. Candidates are advised to keep checking this page for updates.

SSC MTS Results 2018

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the results after completion of each Tier Exam. The candidates selected in the rounds progress to the next one. Candidates can check the result from the direct link to official SSC CGL website as and when the results are announced.
